I read the books & saw the movies in real time, and I still tear up thinking about the fact that is is over. I cried during the last movie because it is sad, but also because that was the end.

Also, I’ve always been a Snape hater. My friends didn’t agree, but I stood firm at the end of book 6. Read the next one. Read quickly! You’ll love it.

You’ll wait a little while, and then you will read them again.
I felt the same way when book 7 came out. And it took me even longer to actually see the last movie because I knew that once I watched the final movie, the ride was actually over.

This post brought back so many emotions!!! I read the entire series summer ’08 and I felt the exact same way! I hated Snape. Loved Luna. Questioned Dumbledore. Fell even more in love with the core trio.

I cannot wait to discuss book 7 with you, but take your time reading! I cried the ugly cry when I finished it because I just didn’t want it to be over!!!

You have no idea the agony waiting for the last book to come out back in the day. There were so many hypothesis floating around as to what would happen. I really did need a support group when it was all over. Glad you’re enjoying the books though.

It’s been a long time since I read the books, so I may be wrong, but I don’t think Dumbledore suspected he had actually made the Horcruxes until the thing with the diary in book 2. And back then Voldemort wasn’t back yet, so he had other things he was worrying about, so he didn’t really have a chance or need to look for them until then.

Maybe. Man, I thought about this way too much.
