Crickets and Cobwebs

I feel like there are cobwebs forming all over this space. My blog is slowing being neglected and beginning to collect dust. I don’t know why, either. It not like anything

has really changed over here that is making blogging even harder than it was before. It seems that nothing is going on for me to talk about.

Same stuff, different day.

My kid is cute and says funny things. That hasn’t changed.

Oh, I was at the dollar store the other day and on an impulse, I bought some Air Heads. Weird, huh? I needed to check out but there were some shady looking guys checking out at the time so instead of waiting behind them, I decided to wander the candy aisle. Always a good decision. Air Heads taste like swim team in middle school. I hated swim team, but the Air Heads were always delicious.

I cleaned out my kitchen on Friday. Did I mention that in Monday’s post? I had A LOT of expired spices. Ones that I use regularly and that is pretty nasty.

Jansen got his first negative report from his teachers yesterday. Apparently he has been saying “no” to them a lot. Not okay kiddo, NOT OKAY. I told her that she is more than welcome to put my child in time out and that we will do the same at home. How do I fix this without him living in time out? He rarely gets time out. He never acts out intentionally so whenever he has time out it is because he has been doing something naughty and we have given him a choice to change his behavior or go to time out. The problem is that his issue is with saying “no”… we say “no” often. So teaching him that he isn’t allowed to tell grown ups “no” is much harder than it might seem.

See? Not a whole lot going on.

I tried this thing I saw on Pinterest where you put equal parts vinegar and blue Dawn in one of those dish sponge things with a handle. Did that make sense? You know, those scrubby brushes that you put soap in the handle? Yes, you know. You attach it to a little hook in your shower with a cable tie and scrub your shower every couple days to keep it squeaky clean. It works so well and it is super easy. You do it while you’re in the shower. Do it.

You should read this post that Molly wrote about her incredible breakfast sandwich. We had it when we were in Louisiana several months ago so she tried to copy it. So darn good.

Aren’t you glad that I made time to post today? Your life is better having read this, I know.

Wow, how funny. Airheads taste like middle school swim team to me too! When you said that it brought back so many memories. I went through a blogging dry spell last year too. ((HUGS))

I do the shower scrub thing with that mixture, too. It works really well, and only takes an extra 5 minutes while you are standing in the shower anyway, as opposed to tackling the job in addition to other cleaning chores.

Instead of saying “no” try saying “yes, but…” For example, instead of “no, you can’t play with your toys” say “yes you can play, but after dinner is finished.” Saying NO to everything is totally normal for his age. Its Faiths favorite word right now!
