Ten on Tuesday (129)

This is a fun batch of questions from my real-life friend, Christine!

ALL ABOUT THE 90′s!

1. Which boy band was your favorite and your favorite song?
Backstreet Boys were my favorite and it’s impossible to choose a favorite song. Now I prefer NSync because I’m a fan of JT. Wasn’t it great how these guys danced so much? That just doesn’t really exist anymore. Five guys doing cheesy choreography? Lost art.

2. Your favorite spice girl?
Sporty. Me and some friends were the Spice Girls in 8th grade for Halloween. I was Sporty. Though I’m really a fan of all of them. Girl Power.

True story – I have the movie Spice World practically memorized.

Also, every time I see Victoria Beckham looking all serious and too-cool-for-school, I want to yell, “YOU WERE A SPICE GIRL! THE CHEESIEST OF THE CHEESE! GET OVER YOURSELF AND SMILE.”

3. Did you ever try the orbit drink?
No. I don’t even know what that is.

4. What brand of clothing were you in to?
I wore uniforms and I’ve never really been that into brands. Although I do remember owning my fair share of Adidas pants.

5. Did you watch TGIF?
Heck yes I did!!

6. What news story in the 90′s do you recall?
Probably the most obvious one is the Clinton/Lewinsky affair.

7. List which you think had the best talent. Jessica Simpson, Mandy Moore, Brittney Spears, and Christina Aguilera.
This is tough. I think most people would say Christina (or Xtina, as she is known these days), but I’m sort of leaning toward Jessica Simpson. I just prefer her voice. I know Christina has tons of talent but I’m just not a huge fan of her pipes.

8. Did Marilyn Manson creep you out?
Oh yes. Remember when that rumor went around that Paul from Wonder Years was actually Marilyn Manson? That was a fun rumor.

9. Who was your BFF?
Okay now. The 90′s was entire decade… TEN YEARS. I was aged 6 though 16 during those ten years and it is impossible to keep the same best friend for ten years through those ages. Some that ring a bell: Amber, Jennifer, Kendall, Debbie, Rachel, Lucy

10. A picture of you in the 90′s.
None of those are digital so my options are limited. Here is a photo of a photo… It’s one of the ones I had copied after Lucy died. This is us in the hallway at school. I love this picture.

After finishing this I have to say I think I’m too old for this list!

    1. I wasn’t into boy bands. I was in my late 20′s – 30′s in the 90′s. ;) But I did like whatever boy band that was in the extras of the Tarzan movie.

    2. Um, see #1

    3. ?

    4. Whatever was on sale and fit!

    5. Yes ma’am.

    6. Battle of Mogadishu (Black Hawk Down)

    7. Of all those, I would prefer Mandy Moore. I guess her movies influence me, too, though.

    8. Yes, ma’am. Still does.

    9. I was older, so I don’t think I had just one BFF. Two Sharons and two Darlenes come to mind.

    10. I’ve been searching my blog for 10 minutes looking for a photo to link, but I don’t label very well so no photo. I had LONG, curly hair. That’s what stands out in most of my 90′s pictures.

The 90s were AWESOME! They were my childhood, so I have very fond memories of TGIF, BSB and Spice Girls. I think Sporty was my favorite too. My fondest years were probably 95-98 because I met my best friend around there & we’re still best friends today (I was 5-8 years old!). Ahhhh the 90′s. Good times.

    1. hmm have no idea b/c I did not listen to pop music. I was an alternative music listener.
    2. again have no idea I didn’t listen to them
    3. I don’t even know what that is
    4. I shopped at Express in the mid 90′s but I don’t consider myseld brand loyal…well except for Nike sneakers b/c they fit me best.
    5. I don’t think so. I am pretty sure I was out partying on Fridays in the 90′s.
    6. Was OJ Simpson in the 90′s?
7.These girls irritate me. Christina Aguilera has quite the vocal range but I don’t like her music.
    8. Yes! He is extremely creepy but I did like the song The Beautiful People.
    9. Wow I ended high school, started and ended college and started a career in the 90′s. So I would have to say I had more than one BFF. Jeremy, Eileen, Kelly, Kim, Val
    10. None are digital so I will have to scan one and enter later.

Ok I am late to comment, but I am pretty sure you’ve had an orbit…they were the drink with the little jelly (or candy) balls floating in them. I could have sworn we had them at your house during one of our super fun sleep overs.
