One of the rules we put in place when my sister moved in was that she had to cook dinner once a week. Last night was her first dinner. I tell ya, I love to cook, but there is something special about coming home to a home cooked meal that you didn’t have to plan AT ALL. I didn’t have to buy the groceries, defrost the meat, or think about it for a second.
You buy too many shoes or handbags or books or clothes. I buy too many bottles of nail polish. My defense is threefold: It’s a relatively cheap addiction, I use them all the time, and I quit getting professional pedicures. So LAY OFF. And I don’t only buy OPI and Essie, I’m an equal opportunity polish connoisseur. As long as they are good quality and don’t chip too soon, I’ll use it.
This weekend we are going to Galveston with a lot of our Bible study group from college. I look forward to this weekend so much each year. This is the first year we’ll have more kids
than just Jansen. I’m excited for all the kids to get to play. Four kids under the age of two. Lord, beer me strength.
I didn’t pack enough lunch yesterday and by 4:00, I thought I was going to die of starvation. This diet stuff is dumb. DUMB. Though I suppose that was my fault, I should have packed more. But I feel like it’s easier to blame the diet.
I’m glad that I’m reading these Harry Potter books. I think this will be enough reading to have kick started my reading habit again. I used to read a lot but quit when I was so tired during pregnancy. I never picked it back up. I mean, a book here and there, but there have been months at a time that I haven’t read anything. That’s just not good for your brain.
Pixar is so creative. Have you seen that Toy Story Toons about Hawaii? HILARIOUS. It’s at the end of the DVD of Cars 2.
